Ben Witherington seems to be on a pilgrimage of sorts this summer. His recent post about the city of Ephesus is excellent. It must be nice to have summers off.

Scot McKnight's series "Letters to Emerging Christians" has been full of interesting nuggets. The most recent letter addresses how to explain the Gospel simply and accurately.I like his Kingdom focus. Rick Meigs (the Blind Beggar) posted on a similar topic recently.

Earl Creps recently wrote a very convicting piece entitled Landfill Repentance.

Mark Roberts recently had the opportunity to debate Christopher Hitchens, author of the recent book god is not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything on Hugh Hewitt's podcast. He's been elaborating in a series on his blog.

Finally, Angie sent me this link. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Probably both. Yikes!

Some people have far too much time on their hands. OK, so I actually did waste 10 minutes of my time watching this whole video, but I'm sure it took much longer than that to create. The scary thing is, I recognized most of these movies.

I know I haven't written a blog entry in a while, between vacation and other things I just haven't had time. To be honest, I may not have time to write a full entry for another week or so, but for now I will leave you, my gentle readers, with a bit of sillyness. As a recovering Trekkie and a fan of Monty Python, I just couldn't resist sharing this video.

The Screwtape Letters has long been one of my favorite books. That probably reveals something about my character...although it's no surprise to those who know me well. I've always loved playing the role of "the devil's advocate." (Boy, that really sounds bad.) Over the years, many authors have tried to take up the mantle of C.S. Lewis and translate other missives of old Uncle Screwtape. The latest is Eric Metaxas in his essay Screwtape on The Da Vinci Code. He does a decent job, but no one will ever match the original. It's like someone trying to imitate Shakespeare. It's fun, but it never quite matches up. Still, it's an enjoyable read.

Yes, I know. I haven't been blogging much lately. I'm sure all three of my faithful readers are going through withdrawal. Sorry folks, I just haven't been inspired lately. I must be in mourning for the Red Wings, yeah that's it.

In lieu of a real blog post, I offer a link to Joe Carter's regular "Yak Shaving Razor" feature at The Evangelical Outpost. I don't know where Joe finds these things, but every week he seems to provide at least one great tip that I had no idea about. I especially like his Google tips.

These are so silly, kind of the blog version of those heartwarming emails everyone (except me) forwards to all their friends. Besides, I've always thought of myself as more of an F-150. This sort of makes sense, though. A car with something as bizzare as a Wankel engine seems to fit with my own personal eccentricity.

We made our annual pilgrimage to the NAIAS today. Since I'm turning 40 this year, I've already decided how I'm going to handle my mid-life crisis. One of these would do it quite nicely...



Lori found a nice little number for herself, too. As usual, her choice is much more practical and within the realm of possibility. How boring!



Of course, Bekah picked out a vehicle of her own. She's operating under the foolish assumption that I'm actually going to let her drive someday. Silly girl.
